DUAL ENROLLMENT

Dual enrollment provides opportunities for high school students to take college courses and earn college credit. The COVID-19 pandemic has fueled a surge in participation across the country, and equity-centered legislation has raised dual enrollment’s profile in California. Because California’s public K–12 schools serve large shares of students from groups that have been historically underrepresented in higher education, increasing equity and success in these programs is critical to expanding educational opportunities, improving economic mobility, and meeting California’s need for skilled workers.

K12 STRONG WORKFORCE PROGRAM

LA/OC Regional Consortium (LAOCRC): The LA/OC Regional Consortium (LAOCRC) is calendaring standing weekly webinars to begin every Monday and/or Friday (beginning and ending of each week) to ensure all Local Education Agency (LEA) partners have the opportunity to participate in discussions regarding Letter of Intents, Workforce Pathway Coordinator, and SWP regional project discussions. Additionally, there will also be in-person SWP strategic meetings hosted at our community college sites. Orange County Regional Consortium (OCRC): The Orange County Regional Consortium (OCRC) consists of nine community colleges and one continuing education center across four community college districts, and serves as a regional framework for communicating, coordinating, collaborating, promoting and planning career and technical education, and workforce and economic development initiatives in the Orange County Region. The goal of the OCRC is to support the connection of individuals and the alignment of programs and curriculum to the needs of business & industry.
